Formula

Total basic salary earned ÷ 12

Enter the employee’s actual basic salary earned whenever precise payroll information is available. The displayed result is rounded to two decimal places; the calculation is not rounded prematurely.

What should I include?

Use the employee’s basic salary actually earned during the calendar year. Salary changes, partial months, unpaid periods, and separation during the year should be reflected in the earned amounts.

What if I receive commissions?

Commission treatment depends on the nature of the compensation arrangement. Do not automatically include every commission. Enter only compensation that legally forms part of basic salary for 13th-month-pay purposes.
